Days per year: 187Min salary: $20,944Max salary: $24,639(Based on 2025-2026 Pay Scale)JOB TITLE: English for Speakers of Other Language (ESL) Aide, Middle School (2026-2027 School Year)REPORTS TO: Campus PrincipalWAGE/HOUR STATUS: NonexemptPAY GRADE: Para 1PRIMARY PURPOSE:The primary purpose of the ESL Aide is to assist in the supervision and instruction of ESL students.All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support and demonstrate our core values, communicate in a clear and respectful manner and seek to continuously improve self-performance and processes.QUALIFICATIONS:Required:48 hours of college coursework from an accredited college or universityPass Spring Independent School District's NCLB test in the areas of Reading, Writing, and Mathematics (Tests are administered after the recommendation for hire)Preferred:Associate's Degree or higher from an accredited college or universityOne+ years experience working with childrenSPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Clerical skillsAbility to work well with childrenAbility to communicate effectivelyMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Assist teacher in the instructional settingConfer with teachers, parents and/or appropriate personnel for the purpose of assisting in evaluation of students' progressPerform record keeping and basic clerical functions for the purpose of supporting teachers in maintaining student filesMonitor individual students in classroomProvide linguistic support to students in the content area classesParticipate in staff development and faculty meetings as assignedPerform all other duties as assignedWORKING/SPECIAL CONDITIONS:The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following:Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. May require some lifting no more than 10lbs. Overtime is required as necessary.
