STOREROOM CLERK
POSITION SUMMARYThe Storeroom Clerk maintains the storeroom applying knowledge of procedures to meet expectations and Amsted Rail procedures and standards. Performs routine manual and detailed clerical work involved with receiving, storing, stocking, forklift operation, and inventory duties including cycle counts in a storeroom.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without accommodation.Adhere to plant-wide safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail; outlined by the Amsted Rail Health & Safety programUnpacks and receives in incoming orders, checking against items listed on purchase orders, invoices or other order formsLifts, stores, and delivers supplies and/or materials across the plant locationsAssembles, adjusts in inventory systems and/or repairs articles carried in stockCounts, weighs, and/or marks items, as required for identification, using appropriate methodsConducts inventory counts and reconciliations and requests items as neededFills orders and issues supplies in company inventory systems (SAP) upon proper authorizationResolve internal customer issues relating to the condition or availability of stored itemsPrepare inventory control of storeroom materialsMaintains records and prepares necessary reports, using SAP and Microsoft ExcelEnsure storeroom is maintained in a neat and orderly fashionCommunicates directly with vendors on the phone, in person, and in writing, on matters relating to suppliesPackages materials for shippingPerforms routine custodial or maintenance dutiesPerform other duties, as assigned by Line Lead or Supervisor.
