Work Schedule: 1.0 FTE Continuing Position - 180-day base contract per year (Monday - Friday)Reports To: Executive Director of Special EducationSalary: Per Marysville Education Association Negotiated Salary ScheduleBase & TRI Salary Schedule at http://www.msd25.org/employee-groupsAccount Code: 2100-26-2110-0000-2000-0000-0Position Summary:This position will provide therapy/interventions as prescribed in accordance with district and professional standards, will maintain records and documentation as set forth in the Individual Education Program (IEP); and is subject to ongoing student progress monitoring.Minimum Qualifications:Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) with School Occupational Therapist endorsement requiredWashington State license as Occupational Therapist maintain for the duration of job requiredExcellent oral and written communication skillsSuccessful experience at appropriate grade level preferredExperience and/or training with cultural, ethnic, and language diversity preferredSuccessful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint ClearanceProof of Immunization (if born 1/1/57 or later)I-9 Employment Eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control ActCompletion of all district-required training within thirty (30) calendar days from hire dateDesired Skills:Ability to identify students with physical disability, motor deficit, movement dysfunction, and/or developmental delayAbility to communicate and assist school personnel, public agencies, and parents relative to disabilityKnowledge of implementing occupational therapy services in keeping with district and state guidelinesKnowledge of an ability in processing therapy programs as prescribed by state law and consistent with district policyKnowledge of student evaluation processes and proceduresEssential Job Functions:This list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. Depending upon individual assignment, the employee may perform all or a combination of several of the following duties:Provide occupational therapy services for students with identified physical disability, motor deficit, movement dysfunction, and/or developmental delay which interferes with learning in the educational environmentProgram planning for occupational therapy or appropriate options for each Individualized Education Program (IEP) as a member of the Multidisciplinary Educational Team (MDT)Treatment and management of the disability based upon results of evaluation which may include direct and/or indirect therapy servicesConsultation and education on a formal and informal level with medical and educational professionals, paraprofessionals, and parents regarding educational programming and disability informationAdministration of occupational therapy services within the educational environment (documentation, record keeping, equipment, space requirements, supervision of classroom and occupational therapy assistants)Responsible for and monitor of the proper fit, use, and adjustment of specialized equipmentResearch and evaluation for school occupational therapy servicesMaintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and regular work hoursProfessionally interact with students, staff, and publicEstablish and maintain professional contacts with studentsComply with all district policies and proceduresComply with the Code of Professional ConductPerform related duties as assignedWork Environment:Work is typically performed in and around a student learning environment; may be exposed to childhood diseases; may be required to balance and crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel; may be required to stand for prolonged periods; may be exposed to high noise levels; and may experience a multitude of demands and changing priorities with frequent interruptions.EvaluationThis position shall be evaluated periodically by the Executive Director of Special Education pursuant to the currently established district procedures and evaluation criteria.
