Welder

We are currently looking for a talented MIG Welder to join our 1st or 2nd shift team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe layout, fitting, and welding of parts, ensuring all work aligns with our internal drawings, specifications, and quality standards. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in various welding positions, the ability to interpret metric drawings utilizing GD&T, and experience with diverse fabrication tools. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional who prioritizes safety and thrives in a collaborative manufacturing setting where independent work is also valued. Primary Duties Execute layout, fit-up, and MIG welding tasks in alignment with AWS protocols and technical specifications. Analyze complex fabrication prints, ensuring accurate interpretation of metric dimensions and GD&T standards. Prepare fixtures and perform tack and finish welding using torches, welding guns, and other fabrication hardware. Complete necessary grinding, arc gouging, and flame cutting operations. Manage your daily workflow to ensure production deadlines are consistently met. Assist in the efficient transfer of materials between the fabrication and painting departments. Document labor hours, work orders, and production data through both manual and electronic systems. Manage robotic welding systems while conducting essential safety and equipment inspections. Help maintain high quality standards by identifying, documenting, and reporting fabrication discrepancies to the team. Collaborate effectively with colleagues while maintaining productivity with minimal oversight. Complete miscellaneous duties as needed to support overall production goals. Qualifications Possess practical welding experience or current enrollment in a certified technical welding program. Demonstrate the ability to analyze and apply information from engineering blueprints and fabrication drawings. Help maintain a culture of excellence by upholding rigorous safety and workmanship standards. Preferred Skills Background in the manufacturing of cranes or heavy machinery. Proficiency with essential fabrication tools like grinders, chisels, and tip cleaners. Experience utilizing carbon arc gouging or cutting torches. Solid understanding of GD&T principles. Ability to follow standard work procedures and contribute to continuous improvement documentation. Comfortable navigating computer systems for production-related tasks. Familiarity with metric measurement systems. Physical Demands Work in areas with exposure to welding fumes. Operate in environments with noise levels reaching 85 dB or higher. Utilize overhead cranes, hoists, and jib cranes. Lift up to 35 lbs on a regular basis. Work at various heights, including climbing ladders, lifts, and equipment. Stand for the duration of 8-hour shifts with limited breaks. Endure working in areas with varying temperature conditions. Work near magnets that could potentially interfere with medical devices. Kneel, squat, crawl, and maneuver into tight or challenging positions. Perform repetitive tasks involving pushing, pulling, grasping, and rotating. Utilize fine motor skills while operating a wide range of power and hand tools. Mandatory Protective Gear Employees must wear hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toed or metatarsal boots, and complete welding safety attire including helmets, jackets, chaps, and grinding shields.
