Maintenance Person
Job Description:
Metro Gas (ARCO) is seeking a hardworking and dependable Maintenance Person to join our team. The Maintenance Person will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, and efficiency of the gas station. Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, restocking, cleaning, painting over graffiti, maintaining storage spaces, and ensuring inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling various maintenance tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Restocking:
Receive deliveries of merchandise and fuel supplies, verify quantities, and inspect for damage.
Restock fridges, shelves, and displays to ensure merchandise is readily available for customers.
Rotate stock and remove expired items from shelves and storage areas.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
Maintain the cleanliness of the station’s exterior and interior, including the fuel pumps, parking lot, and entryways.
Clean and organize the warehouse and storage spaces regularly.
Paint over graffiti and perform minor repairs as needed to maintain the station's appearance.
Inventory Management:
Assist the store manager in conducting regular inventory checks, including counting stock and verifying records.
Ensure all items are correctly priced and displayed in accordance with store policies.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to safety protocols for handling chemicals, fuel, and other hazardous materials.
Conduct regular safety checks and report any hazards or issues to the store manager.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding health and safety standards.
General Maintenance Tasks:
Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, and minor landscaping.
Coordinate with the store manager and external contractors for any major repairs or maintenance needs.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in maintenance, stock management, or a similar role is preferred.
Basic skills in handling repairs, cleaning, and general upkeep.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and carrying for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow instructions.
Basic math skills and experience handling inventory counts.
Work Environment:
Primarily outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions.
Involves physical activities, such as lifting, bending, standing, and carrying.
Requires flexibility in working hours, including weekends and holidays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.25 - $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 36 per week
