A nursing professional with expertise in home health care is sought for a contract position in Merritt Island, FL. This role demands hands-on experience in post-op surgical home health nursing, particularly in orthopedic and general surgery cases. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a high caseload, demonstrating proficiency in EPIC and OASIS systems, and providing exceptional adult home health care.Key Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of approximately 27-30 adult home health patients daily.Provide post-operative care in home settings, focusing on orthopedic and general surgery patients.Utilize EPIC and OASIS electronic documentation systems effectively.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.Respond to on-call duties as required.Adhere to all healthcare regulations, including infection control and patient safety protocols.Qualifications and Experience:Current Florida State or Compact Registered Nurse license at the time of application.Minimum 2 years of recent Medicare home health nursing experience.Proven experience with post-op surgical home health, including orthopedic and general cases.BLS certification required.Experience with Pleurx drains is a plus.Ability to work a Monday-Friday schedule with weekend rotations (approximately 5 weekend shifts every 6 weeks).Willingness to provide two recent professional references from authoritative figures within the last year.Compliance with flu vaccination requirements or approved medical/religious exemptions.Schedule:Days, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.Weekend rotation required.Occasional overtime may be available.Location - Merritt Island, FL: Merritt Island offers a blend of serene natural beauty and vibrant community life, located near beautiful waterways and recreational parks.
