Position Title: Associate, Labor and Employment - EncinoThe Associate, Labor and Employment role offers a unique opportunity to support the defense of employment matters through comprehensive legal tasks. This position involves drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery, as well as conducting legal research and managing case workflows. The associate will play a critical role in assisting with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation while serving as a primary contact for clients and agencies. The firm fosters a collaborative environment, encouraging associates to take ownership of their cases and provide practical legal guidance. Candidates should be prepared to manage a billable workload in a fast-paced setting while contributing to a positive team culture.Salary Range: $160,000 - $250,000 / Year DOEAssociate, Labor and Employment - Encino Responsibilities:Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery with increasing independenceConduct legal research and develop case strategy with partner guidanceSupport trial preparation, including exhibits and witness preparationManage day-to-day case workflow and deadlinesReview and analyze documents to identify key facts and risksOversee organization of case files and materialsDraft and manage responses to EEOC / CRD (DFEH) complaintsAttend mediations, arbitrations, and court hearingsAttend or take/defend depositionsCommunicate directly with government agenciesTake ownership of position statements and submissionsServe as a day-to-day contact for clients (HR, management)Advise on employment issues, investigations, and risk mitigationProvide practical, business-oriented legal guidanceAssociate, Labor and Employment - Encino Requirements:Must have 2+ years defense side litigation with employment & labor lawExperience drafting pleadingsExperience writing motionsExperience with discoveryExperience attending (or taking) depositionsJD degreeAdmitted to practice in CaliforniaMature and driven personalityPreferred candidates will have represented employers in wrongful termination, employment discrimination and wage and hour casesBilingual with Spanish is preferredBenefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage401K with profit sharingLong-term and short-term disability coverageEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA)Unlimited PTO + Holidays
