Application Engineer – Power & High-Voltage SystemsCompany: Cyient SemiconductorLocation: On-site, Raleigh, NCTravel: Up to 10% international travelRole Type: Full-timeRole OverviewCyient Semiconductor is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to support customers deploying Cyient semiconductor products in high-voltage power conversion and energy systems. This role is customer-facing and hands-on, combining systems engineering, laboratory experimentation, and close collaboration with internal design and product teams.The ideal candidate will have deep experience working with AC and DC systems in the 400–1500V range, familiarity with wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductor technologies, and a strong background in power electronics applications across industrial, data center, solar, and EV charging markets. This is an on-site role based in the Raleigh, North Carolina area and includes limited international travel.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide technical application support to customers using Cyient Semiconductor products across high-voltage AC and DC systems.Perform systems engineering for power electronics solutions operating in the 400–1500V range, with emphasis on industrial power systems, data center power infrastructure, solar inverters and energy systems, EV charging platformsDesign, develop, and validate internal and customer-facing evaluation and test boards.Work closely with internal design, product, and systems teams to: Support product definition and roadmap developmentProvide application-level feedback to guide device and platform developmentOperate in a high-voltage laboratory environment, setting up and executing experiments involving up to 1000–1000V AC/DC and collecting, analyzing, and interpreting experimental dataCreate clear, high-quality technical documentation, application notes, and white papersSupport customer meetings, design reviews, and technical discussionsRequired QualificationsMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE).Hands-on experience working with high-voltage AC and DC systems in a laboratory environment, up to 1000V.Strong experience with wide-bandgap (WBG) semiconductor technologies (SiC, GaN).Experience with isolated gate drivers and gate power suppliesExperience designing analog and sensing circuits used in power electronics applicationsDemonstrated expertise in power electronics design at the multi-kW scaleExcellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both internal teams and customers.Flexibility to support early or late meetings as needed to accommodate global customers and internal teams.Preferred AttributesPrior experience in customer-facing application engineering or field applications roles.Experience with embedded programming for power-electronics controlExperience with AI tools and python coding in an engineering setting.Familiarity with safety standards, lab best practices, and high-voltage test procedures.Experience contributing to technical marketing materials such as white papers or reference designs.Why Cyient SemiconductorCyient Semiconductor offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of power electronics and energy systems innovation.
