Client: Federal Reserve BankWork Location: Remote (US-based)Work Authorization: US Citizen (USC) or Green Card (GC) Holder RequiredInterview Process: 1 Technical Interview (60–90 Minutes)Background Check: Enhanced Federal Background Check RequiredRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled AWS Data Engineer to help build, scale, and optimize enterprise-grade data platforms and data lake environments on AWS for the Federal Reserve Bank.In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data pipelines, modern cloud infrastructure, and high-performance data storage solutions. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who thrives in cloud-native environments and possesses a deep understanding of modern data architecture, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and secure enterprise practices.Key ResponsibilitiesData Architecture & Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient data ingestion and processing into AWS data lake and platform environments.Infrastructure as Code: Write, architect, and deploy reusable Terraform modules from scratch to provision and manage cloud infrastructure (not just update or maintain existing code).Cloud Storage Solutions: Implement and optimize high-performance database architectures using DynamoDB and/or PostgreSQL.Performance Tuning: Write complex, optimized Python scripts and advanced SQL queries to handle large-scale, high-throughput data processing.Security & Compliance: Ensure all cloud components adhere to strict federal security standards and architectural best practices.Required Qualifications & Technical SkillsCore Technical Must-HavesAWS Data Ecosystem: Extensive experience with core AWS data services (e.g., AWS Glue, EMR, S3, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis).Terraform Expertise: Must be able to build Terraform infrastructure and modules from scratch. Candidates will be evaluated on their ability to write original IaC code.Programming & Querying: Advanced proficiency in Python and Advanced SQL for data manipulation, pipeline orchestration, and optimization.Database Mastery: Strong hands-on experience with high-performance databases, specifically DynamoDB and/or PostgreSQL.Data Lakes & Platforms: Deep understanding of enterprise data platform architectures, data lake concepts, partitioning strategies, and storage formats (e.g., Parquet, ORC, Avro).Background & Security RequirementsWork Authorization: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to federal client requirements.Clearance/Background: Ability to pass an Enhanced Federal Background Check.
