Position Overview: The landscaping foreman/laborer is an experienced landscape laborer with a profound attitude and skill set, supervising crews on lawn care jobs and tree trimming jobs. Laborers are also needed for landscaping installs and lawn care jobs. The positions work as a member of the team and takes pride in his/her work, whether it’s a lawn care job or a tree trimming job, as well as having professional demeanor and appearance.
Essential Responsibilities:
Must be able to operate a variety of equipment with manual transmissions and has a working knowledge of horticultural practices.
Must be 21 years or older.
Must have at least 2 years or more of experience in lawn care jobs or tree trimming jobs.
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, class E chauffeur’s.
Must know how to pull a trailer.
Must have accomplished verbal and written communication skills and be capable of taking direction positively.
Physical demands: required to stand, walk, crouch, stoop or kneel, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear during lawn care jobs. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds for tree trimming jobs. May be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather (heat or cold).
Knowledge and Experience:
Requires a high school degree or GED, plus 2 years experience in the landscaping field.
Candidate must be able to read and write legibly.-Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, job planning skills and mechanical aptitude are a must.
Certifications: Class E chauffeur’s—required, ICPI certification would be a plus, NCMA Certified SRW installer would be a plus.
