Mentorship and professional development training are a focus throughout your entire career.ResponsibilitiesAssist in Men’s, Women’s and Youth shoe areasPrepare all necessary technology and devices prior to scheduled shift to ensure you are ready to begin at your scheduled timeBe proactive in communicating with the Specialty Shop Manager and team to understand the urgent needs in the areaSelect shoes from backstock and place them in the staging area for sales associates Return any unpurchased shoes to the correct areas in backstockAssist Customer Service with shoe return processing and return items to the sales floorKeep product organized to eliminate clutter and maintain accurate inventory recordsInitiate a warm and welcoming interaction with customers establishing a rapport and offering assistance, setting a positive tone for the customer’s experience Maintaining a smooth flow of service to minimize wait times for customersAbility to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’sAbility to write simple correspondence. Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 5p.m. and 9p.m., Monday through Friday (earlier hours may be available) and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 pm Saturday, 10a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. typical schedule will be every other weekend and 1-2 shifts during the week. Average hours per week is 20 hours.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma, or general education degree (GED), preferred 1-3 months of related retail/sales experience, preferredPhysical Requirements/Lifting RequirementsMust be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objectsScheels cares about the health and safety of our Associates.
