Senior Scientific Director

Senior Scientific DirectorOmnicom Health Medical Communications (OHMC) is seeking a Senior Director to join our Medical & Scientific Services team and oversee the development, execution and delivery of multiple medical communication projects in Promotional Medical Education, Medical Affairs and/or Publications Planning & Strategy. The Senior Director will develop new and strengthen existing client relationships, ensuring that the scientific needs of the account are being met with strategic focus, scientific rigor and accuracy, and clinical relevance. The Senior Director is also responsible for the supervision and development of junior scientific team members.Responsibilities:Scientific ContentOversee content development, including primary writing, ensuring efficient execution and delivery to clientManage a wide range of complex projects across multiple teams/therapeutic areasFiscal ResponsibilityContribute to scope creation and provide feedback on scientific components of budget developmentCollaborate with Client Services partner on forecasting and resource planningEnsure scientific teams are staffed appropriatelyStrategic Perspective and GuidanceServe as scientific lead, providing strategic direction and demonstrating consistent leadership and managementDemonstrate deep understanding of assigned therapeutic categories and strategic needs of associated stakeholdersProven ability to develop a rigorous strategic plan focused on achieving client goalsClient Engagement and InfluenceBuild and manage strong client relationshipsIdentify opportunities for innovation, especially through digital channelsModerate and facilitate effective, productive client sessionsTeam Engagement and InfluenceWork with Client Services partner to plan for team organization and project execution in line with timelines and budgetProvide routine, proactive feedback on client relationships, including suggestions for improving client satisfaction, to Team and Senior LeadershipDemonstrate effective and efficient time and project management skills on assigned accountsProactively manage Scientific Services team and individual performance, including training and development of junior scientistsBusiness DevelopmentDevelop understanding of agency capabilities and business/industry environments to help target and act on new business opportunitiesWork with functional teams to cross-sell scientific servicesQualifications:An advanced scientific degree (PhD, MD, PharmD) with 5+ years of experience in a Medical Communications agency settingStrong therapeutic category knowledge and experience, especially OncologyExperience establishing and growing pharmaceutical client relationshipsDemonstrated ability to interpret data and provide strategic/scientific direction to clientsStrong organizational, problem solving, project management, and financial skills with expertise overseeing a range of complex projects within a team structureStrong self-motivation and enthusiasm with demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly detail-oriented environmentExperience managing, mentoring, and motivating scientistsIn depth knowledge of pharmaceutical standards, compliance, and regulationsOutstanding communication and presentation skills, including strong proficiency in related technologies (Microsoft applications, Internet research platforms, etc)Ability and willingness to travel as neededUS Salary Range$125,000 - $160,000 USDOmnicom Health is committed to hiring and developing exceptional talent.
