Junior Interior Designer

This role is designed for someone creative with an entrepreneurial spirit eager to play a significant part in building alongside the senior designer. The role requires  someone who is self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented and passionate about growth, both within their own ability and the companies as a whole. No two days are the same and you need to be purposeful with how you manage your time and thoughtful in how you approach your schedule. You are expected to be able to handle a staging project from conception through installation and support your colleagues on theirs. As a result of the remarkably high and consistent rate of growth, efficiency and increasing capabilities both on an individual and at a team level is a primary focus. The challenge of learning new things, finding new solutions and being capable of more than yesterday must be an exciting idea.Beyond this, the role is a bit your oyster. Make it what you will. There is an expectation that emails are responded to within a reasonable time and in an organized mannerDesign/InstallationDescription: The primary purpose of this role is to handle the design and installation of projects. This takes on two forms. Both are equally important.Your project: You will be assigned projects to manage entirely on your own. From walking and measuring the property to pulling the inventory to overseeing the installation on-site you are in charge and OWN the project.Supporting a colleague on their project: Whether it be a crazy week or large project you will be asked to support on projects that you are not in charge of. This may take the form of designing a room in the project, helping to prep and pack for the project, helping install the project on-site, etc. Oversee and execute staging projects from conception through installationWalk, measure and plan/design the projectPull, pack and label materials in the warehouseOversee load up of truck day of installationDay of on-site installationCollaborate on colleagues staging projectsDesign specific rooms or areasPack up and pull materialsHelp in load up of truck day ofDay of on-site installationWarehouse Management and SourcingDescription: The second largest part of the role addresses the second largest part of the business, managing inventory. It two has two partsOrganization: Each member of the team plays a pivotal role in keeping it organized. Exact responsibilities are spelled out below but always working to keep the space organized is a necessity.Sourcing: You will be playing a crucial role in helping the Senior Designer source materials and plan for new styles and trends. Responsible for section(s) of warehouse EX - BooksKeep it organized and tidyKeep a running inventory and alert Senior Designer when running lowSuggest future purchase options, style ideas, organizational suggestionsWork with Senior Designer and Chief of Staff to source materialsWork with the Senior Designer to make purchasing choicesStay up to date on industry and competitor trendsPlay an essential role in the development of sourcing infrastructure and systemsHave a strong knowledge of the inventoryHave a constant understanding of what is and is not availableDevelop an understanding of what materials are special vs standardHave an understanding of what is and is not used often.Assist with ad hoc creative and organization needsPack Up/Removal of Install ProjectsDescription: When projects finish we are responsible for packing up and moving out the furniture. This is broken down into two steps. The breakdown and the removal. Attention to detail is critical in both as ensuring that we bring back all of our materials, packed, labeled and properly adjusted in airtable is critical to maintaining an accurate inventory and avoiding waste and damage. Pack Up Installed ProjectsLabel all art, lighting, furniture and accessories Wrap and pack all accessoriesSpackle and clean wallsBreakdown bedsFold, label and pack beddingOversee Removal of ProjectsBe the point person on-site the day of move outsFinish any incomplete backup/breakdown tasksVacuum apartmentDirect the load out of the project at the warehouseUnpack any boxes, art, bags, etc and organize in warehouse
