This position works independently to transport, set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control devices for roadway and utility projects.This is a Union position offering competitive wages, benefits, and steady seasonal work.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely operate company truck and trailers to transport traffic control equipment to and from jobsites and traffic yards. Set up, maintain, and remove temporary work zones per SDDOT standards. Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspectionsFollow all applicable laws while driving a company vehicle. Assist with maintaining organized and clean traffic yards. Ensure all equipment is in good working order and ready for field use and report any damaged equipment or devices accordinglyWork independently while maintaining daily communication with supervisors and dispatchComplete all required paperwork accurately and on timeRespond to on-call and weekend assignments as needed. QualificationsSkills & Abilities:Ability to lift 50Work outdoors in all seasonsReliable, self-motivatedAbility to work independentlyMust have good written and verbal communication skillsMust have good employee and customer relationship skillsMust have the ability to coordinate several tasks at once and work under strict deadlinesAdditional Requirements:Valid driver’s license and clean drivingCDL preferred but not requiredWill be a part of the On-call rotation with other current traffic control driversPrior experience in traffic control, equipment maintenance, or construction is preferred.
