Software Development Engineer In Test IIIRussell Tobin is hiring a Software Development Engineer In Test III to support one of our leading technology clients. This is an onsite contract opportunity for an experienced individual contributor with strong Java or Kotlin coding skills and a background in API test automation.The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of hands-on industry experience, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.ResponsibilitiesCreate new tests to verify APIs built by third-party partners and ensure correct implementation of digital payment featuresDefine test coverage for new featuresCreate, maintain, and improve automated server-side test casesReport test results and communicate quality status clearlyContribute to the design and development of internal testing toolsPrioritize, schedule, and communicate the status of assigned workInvestigate and resolve highly technical issues within complex systemsTriage automation failures and drive issues to quick resolutionCommunicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiencesApply strong organizational skills to support both independent and team-based workRequired Qualifications5+ years of hands-on industry experience as an individual contributorStrong proficiency coding in Java and/or KotlinExperience developing API tests using automated testing frameworks, especially REST-based APIsExperience troubleshooting automated test failuresStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsCritical thinking skills with a strong testability mindsetAbility to apply creativity and analytical thinking to test case design and robust automation developmentBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experiencePreferred QualificationsGood understanding of CI/CD principlesExperience designing testing strategies for cloud applicationsExperience with containerization and virtualization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or related toolsFamiliarity with AI/ML solutionsRussell Tobin offers eligible employee's comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
