Learn more at vecima.com.Position SummaryVecima is seeking a versatile and skilled Linux Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality software applications and systems using a multi-language approach. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Linux operating system internals and architecture, combined with expertise in core programming languages (C/C++, Python, GO). This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, performant, and secure solutions. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, a deep understanding of software engineering principles, and the capacity to work within a collaborative, cross-functional team. Experience with web technologies, and internet security, is a significant plus.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development: Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C/C++, Go, and Python in a Linux environment. Linux Development: Designs, codes, tests, and maintains software for devices using the Linux OS, focusing on low-level drivers, kernel, and user-space applications, requiring deep Linux knowledge. Coding and Testing: Write clean, efficient, reusable, and testable code, ensuring functionality, performance, and scalability of applications. Troubleshooting and Optimization: Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing systems and applications, identifying bottlenecks and implementing effective solutions. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to define, design, and ship new features and solutions. Code Review and Documentation: Participate in peer code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge, as well as develop and maintain technical. Lifecycle Management: Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, often within an Agile or Scrum methodology. Required Skills And QualificationsEducation/Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 7-10 years of professional software development experience. Language Proficiency:Proficiency in C/C++ for performance-critical systems. Experience with Go (Golang) for building modern, concurrent, and distributed systems. Expertise in Python for scripting, automation, and data analysis. Linux: Deep understanding of the Linux kernel, system calls, IPC, multi-threading, boot processes (U-Boot, GRUB), and Linux system programming. Preferred Skills And QualificationsNetworking: Experience with networking protocols, particularly the HTTP protocol and TCP/IP stack configuration, is highly desired. Internet Security: The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in secure software development practices and experience with internet security to help safeguard our systems from evolving cyber threats.
