Speech Language Pathologist
Job Description:
The Speech Language Pathologist will be a part of a transdisciplinary team, working collaboratively with other disciplines, including the classroom teachers, ABA therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy and art therapy to ensure generalization of skills and that students reach their full potential. The SLP will focus on expanding the students’ communication abilities through the development of receptive, expressive and pragmatic language skills. The speech-language pathologists will be responsible for utilizing all forms of communication with their students, such as nonverbal language, verbal language and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The therapists will provide speech-language services in a variety of settings, including individual, group sessions, lunch consults, as well consult in the classroom.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the other professionals in the transdisciplinary team (teachers, SLPs, OTs, etc.) to ensure consistent implementation of communication goals throughout the school day.
Conduct assessments in collaboration with others that help to identify students with communication disorders as well as to inform instruction and intervention, consistent with evidence-based practice.
Provide intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual student and is selected through an evidence-based decision-making process.
Conduct individual sessions working on IEP goals, as well as group lessons in the classroom and lunch consults to work on feeding with the individuals that require this type of intervention.
Conduct AAC evaluations, set up devices and train staff.
Complete session notes in a timely manner.
Write up goals and complete progress reports for each student on caseload.

Proven ability to provide organized coordination and collaboration within systems.
Demonstrate strong communication and writing skills, ability to quickly assess and evaluate needs.
Ability to receive supervision and work independently, problem solve, exercise good judgement and be solution oriented.
Qualifications:
Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology
Certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Associations and are Florida State Licensed.
