Job Summary and ResponsibilitiesAs our CNA at CHI St. Francis Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health, formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll help our patients feel safer and more comfortable by assisting with their basic daily life activities.Your success in this role comes from your genuine desire to help patients feel better, whether that means giving them fresh bed linens or checking their vitals. You're diligent about your tasks, observant of patients' conditions improving or declining, and accept coaching well. You know we're all continuously trying to become better care providers, and you're eager to learn.The Certified Nurse Assistant (herewith referred to as C.N.A.) assists patients and/or clients with healthcare needs by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs, providing compassion and comfort, transportation and vital sign monitoring under the supervision of an RN or LPN:Fulfills basic quality of life for patients of all agesAnswer call lightsServe meals, feed patientsVital signs (BP, T, P, R, and SaO2) weight measurements, and accuchecksMake beds, keep rooms cleanAmbulating, turning and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.Adjunct care by ice/heat treatments, non-sterile dressings, therapeutic bathsToileting, measurement of and documenting I/OKnowledge of isolation techniquesReporting observations of patient to attending or charge nurse.Documentation of care providedSafe patient handling (for self and patient)Rounding in ERStrong work ethic and abilityCompletion of mandatory regulatory and educational assignmentsClerical duties:Answer/transfer calls using proper phone etiquettePrint/FAX medical recordsPatient chargesAssembling patient charts/foldersER Quality ControlsClean refrigerators ER/AC weeklyWipe down ER stretchers and commodes daily/WCs weeklyJob RequirementsRequirementsSuccessful completion of a nursing assistant training course is requiredBLSCurrent education on age specific assessment and interventions from neonate through geriatricPreferredPrevious experience as a nursing assistant in a hospital settingCertification of Nursing Assistant LicenseHigh School DiplomaWhere You'll WorkCHI St. Francis Health is a ministry serving the head of the Red River basin located in Breckenridge, Minnesota, founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls in 1899.
