Hospital Laboratory Technician II - BURL, Calabasas(Part-Time)

DescriptionAs a Laboratory Technician 2 at the BURL Outreach Clinical Laboratory in Calabasas, you will play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations and providing high-quality phlebotomy services. Your duties will include:* Perform phlebotomy on patients of all ages.* Prepare specimens for analysis.* Assist in coordination of couriers and routes, including follow-ups on service delays.* Triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information.* Enter and verify patient and test info into computer.* Generate computer labels for specimens and deliver to appropriate areas.* Prepare samples for transport to referral labs or storage.* Document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.* Provide coverage as necessary to other draw stations.Salary Range: $34.41 - $45.38/hourQualifications* A current, California Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification.* High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).* Minimum of 2 years of recent experience performing phlebotomy in a high-volume testing laboratory (post receiving CPT certificate).* Ability to work at other draw stations as needed (e.g. Panorama City, Torrance, Burbank, Encino, Calabasas, Westlake Village, Woodland Hills, Porter Ranch, Thousand Oaks, and Century City).* Availability to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.* Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.* Skill in performing related computer procedures (LIS, HIS).* Knowledgeable in quality assurance practices, preferred.
