MS Art Teacher

Position OverviewCross Schools is seeking a creative, passionate, and student-centered Middle School Art Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore their creativity, develop artistic skills, and appreciate the visual arts within a Christ-centered learning environment.This role offers the opportunity to cultivate both artistic expression and character development while actively contributing to the life of the school community.Primary ResponsibilitiesTeach middle school visual arts courses, introducing a variety of mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed mediaDesign and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans that foster creativity and skill developmentEncourage creative expression while teaching foundational art techniques and principlesIntegrate art history and cultural awareness into the curriculumMaintain a well-organized, safe, and inspiring classroom/studio environmentAssess student progress and provide meaningful, constructive feedbackDisplay student artwork and contribute to school-wide exhibitions or eventsCommunicate regularly with students and families regarding progress and expectationsParticipate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school eventsServe as an advisor, mentor, or club sponsor as assignedQualificationsBachelors degree in Art, Art Education, or related field (Masters degree preferred)Teaching experience at the middle school level preferredStrong knowledge of artistic techniques, media, and art historyAbility to inspire creativity in students of varying skill levelsExcellent classroom management and communication skillsExperience integrating technology into art instruction is a plusA clear commitment to the mission and Christian values of Cross SchoolsPersonal CharacteristicsPassion for working with middle school studentsCreative, enthusiastic, and engaging teaching styleCollaborative and team-orientedGrowth-minded and reflectiveOrganized, dependable, and professionalInvested in contributing to the broader school communityPI9cb08daf37fb-26289-40621918
