Assistant Fleet Manager

Job Description: Responsible for the overall management and daily operation of the Laredo truck fleet to ensure customer needs are being met effectively and in a timely manner. You will work with your team to ensure on-time service is met per customers’ expectations, by supporting drivers, identifying issues, and using critical thinking skills to find solutions. We are looking for individuals who are available to work a flexible work week which would include some weekend coverage. Desired Skills and Qualifications: . Experience in managing a 25 to 30 truck fleet. . Strong leadership skills to Manage local drivers efficiently to maximize revenue. . Understand and coordinate daily load capacity needs/opportunities and communicate with leadership/management. · Strong Customer Service Skills with strong written and oral communication . Communicate professionally and effectively with customers on account issues and questions. · Experience with dispatching/routes. . Understand and coordinate truck load planning. . Manage and oversee truck maintenance and repairs · Basic knowledge of Motor Carrier Operations/Transportation and geography. . Knowledge of FMCSA regulations. . Knowledge of Freight Brokerage Operations and Carrier Agreements · Competent user of MS Office, Email, Computer Literate . Maintains regular and punctual attendance . Works well with others . Maintain a positive, clean, organized, and safe work environment . Bilingual in English and Spanish Location: Laredo, TX Job Type: Full Time Schedule: Monday to Friday, some weekends Job Type: Full-time Pay: DOE Drug Test and Background Check required.
