SQL Engineer Dallas, TexasPart-Time role – Working evenings - Monday - Friday 5pm -10pm CST (Open to candidates that are moonlighting)6 week engagement with option to extendOpen to junior/mid-level/Senior TalentWe are seeking a SQL Engineer with strong hands-on experience in both SQL development and database administration. This role requires expertise in SQL Server upgrades, performance tuning, and enterprise database management, along with solid experience in T-SQL development, SSRS reporting, and code reviews.The ideal candidate will have successfully managed SQL Server migrations from legacy versions (SQL Server 2014/2016 SP3) to SQL Server 2022, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform SQL Server installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching (2014/2016 SP3 → 2022) Design, develop, and maintain T-SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, and triggersLead and support database upgrade and migration projects, including planning, testing, and executionManage and administer SQL Server environments, including backups, restores, and securityPerform code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and adherence to best practicesDevelop and maintain SSRS reports for business and operational reportingConfigure and manage linked servers / distributed queriesTroubleshoot and optimize database performance, indexing, and query execution plansSupport SQL Server Express 2014 environments where applicableCollaborate with developers, analysts, and infrastructure teams for database solutionsRequired Skills & Experience3-5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server (Development + DBA)Strong experience with SQL Server upgrades/migrations (2014/2016 SP3 to 2022)Expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, and performance tuningExperience with SQL Server installation, configuration, and patchingHands-on experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)Experience with distributed servers / linked serversExperience supporting SQL Server Express 2014 environmentsStrong understanding of database design, indexing, and query optimizationExperience conducting code reviews and enforcing best practices
