Qualified Mental Health Professional
Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Purpose: The QMHP is responsible for delivering strength-based, evidence-based skill training to adults to support their personal development and improve their quality of life. Services include Targeted Case Management, Psychosocial Services, Skill Training & Development, Medication Training, and Crisis Intervention. The QMHP works collaboratively with supervisors and clients to implement individualized Service/Treatment Plans. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one skill-building sessions in homes, offices, or community settings. Deliver crisis/emergency support via face-to-face, phone, or on-call systems. Maintain accurate and timely client documentation in compliance with Texas Administrative Code. Support clients with daily living tasks (e.g., behavior, budgeting, transportation, time management). Collaborate with courts, probation, tribal/community agencies, and natural support systems. Teach and reinforce communication, problem-solving, and anger management skills. Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development. Request new referrals proactively as caseloads change. Conduct initial and periodic assessments using the ANSA tool (every 180 days or as needed). Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology. Minimum of 3 years of experience in behavioral health. Certified in ANSA and CANS. Completed Wraparound Training (NWIC Overview & Team Roles). Clear criminal background check. Valid state driver’s license and reliable transportation. Current auto insurance and clean driving record.
