Lab Technician

Job Summary T he Lab Technician is responsible for preparing samples, performing analytical testing, and recording results to ensure product quality and compliance. This role requires flexibility to work day or night shifts, weekends, holidays, scheduled overtime, and emergency overtime as needed. The technician supports production processes, maintains laboratory equipment, and ensures adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities P repare process and finished product samples for testing. Perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry procedures. Record and report results using computerized data systems and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Conduct daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant. Maintain samples of tested products for confirmation of results. Document all testing procedures and promptly notify operations of required adjustments. Perform light maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment. Maintain adequate supplies for testing procedures and notify supervisor of re-order needs. Compare equipment readouts with standards to ensure accuracy. Keep laboratory work areas neat and clean, washing and storing equipment properly. Maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. Perform duties safely, utilizing approved safety equipment and completing required certifications. Adhere to FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards and guidelin es. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to work flexible shifts (day/night), weekends, holidays, and overtime. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Proven housekeeping and sanitation skills. Demonstrated troubleshooting and accurate record-keeping abilities. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods. Preferred Qualifications (if any) Associa te degree or higher in a science-related field. 2+ years of laboratory or plant experience. Good attendance history and excellent safety record. Experience with lab documentation and operating standard lab equipment (pH meter, balances, spectrophotometer). Familiarity with commercial software applications (Excel, Word). Experience with lab instrument operation programs. Strong math skills for calculations associated with lab t esting. Certifications (if any) Forklift certification preferred (if applicable to plant operations). Education: Associate's Degree Certification: Forklift Certification
