Job Description Salary: $15/ hourDEPARTMENT:EventsREPORTS TO:Food, Beverage and Merchandising ManagerTYPE OF POSITION:Seasonal Part TimeGENERAL SUMMARYCuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) seekscandidatewith strong customer service background to handle serving alcoholic beverages and concession items on board the train, in a cigar venue, and at remote locations.RESPONSIBILITIESCheckout customer transactions on cash register (POS System)Appropriately record all staff approved comps and discountsAccurately handle money in transactions and in counting registerdrawerCompleteend of daydrawer reporting and balancing of POS locationsAssist with onboard inventory and distribution for any special programs or eventsLoad and unload train of food and beverageComplete daily inventory and reports documenting salesServe alcoholic beverages in compliance with Ohio liquor lawsRemain in be compliance with verifying customer IDs and ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with TIPS trainingPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including mixing drinks, serving beer and wine, and preparing coffeeClean work areas as needed; wash and sanitize equipment necessary for food serviceRemove all trash atendof shiftServe as a team leader and mentor to volunteers working in onboard service positionsProvide a positive and polite customer experience, answering questions about events and the trainResolve customer service issues with professionalmannerand report to CVSR staff as necessaryPerform other duties, including assisting in the cafe car, as assignedREQUIREMENTS21 years of age or olderHigh School diploma or GEDPreferred: minimum of 2yearsbartending experiencePreferred: TIPS Trained with certificateStrong customer service skillsAttention to detail and excellent organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills; listening skillsMust have flexibility to work on days, nights, and weekendsAbility to stand, sit and/or walk on moving trains for prolonged periods of timeAbility to lift and/or move up to 40 poundsMust have own transportation and willing to work both outdoors and in office settingsPossess a valid state-issued drivers licenseTo apply, please submit a resume totslosarik@cvsr.org with Bartender in the subject line.ABOUT CVSRCuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad is in Northeast Ohio and is a tourist excursion railway and private sector, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization operating in partnership with Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
