Electrical Design Engineer
Job DescriptionAbout the RoleJoin a growing aerospace and defense electronics engineering team supporting the development of Flight Termination Systems, tactical electronics, and other mission-critical technologies used in space and defense applications. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full product lifecycle, contributing to the design, development, testing, and integration of advanced electronic hardware used in highly reliable, safety-critical systems.The ideal candidate will have experience designing analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit boards and enjoy working in a collaborative engineering environment where innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning are valued.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop analog, digital, and mixed-signal electronic hardware for aerospace and defense applicationsPerform circuit analysis, simulation, and validation using tools such as LTSpice or similar softwareCreate schematic designs and PCB layouts using industry-standard design toolsSupport circuit board fabrication, assembly, integration, and testing activitiesConduct electrical analyses, including Operating Stress Analysis and Electrical Worst-Case AnalysisPerform risk assessments and contribute to design reviews throughout product developmentTroubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during integration, verification, and testingDevelop and maintain accurate technical documentation and design recordsParticipate in all phases of the product lifecycle, including requirements development, concept design, implementation, integration, testing, and product supportCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure successful project executionQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field3+ years of experience designing analog, digital, or mixed-signal electronic systemsExperience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools; Altium Designer Version 20 or newer preferredStrong understanding of circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice or equivalentExperience performing electrical analyses, including Operating Stress and Electrical Worst-Case AnalysisStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to electronic hardware designExcellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience working with aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industriesKnowledge of DoD, SAE, IEEE, and/or IPC standards, including IPC-222x design standardsExperience with FPGA/VHDL and/or Embedded C developmentKnowledge of reliability and risk analysis methods such as FMECA and Fault Tree AnalysisHands-on experience using laboratory diagnostic and test equipment including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and environmental chambersProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsWhy Join?Work on cutting-edge aerospace and defense technologies that support critical missions around the worldContribute to advanced electronic systems used in spaceflight, missile systems, and tactical applicationsJoin a rapidly growing engineering organization with opportunities for technical growth and career advancementCollaborate with experienced engineers in a highly innovative and mission-driven environmentInterested in learning more?
