Position SummaryThe Bakery Manager leads the Bakery Department in delivering high-quality baked goods, outstanding customer service, and strong financial results. This role oversees all aspects of production, merchandising, and team development while ensuring department standards for freshness, cleanliness, and food safety are consistently met.Key Responsibilities Department OperationsOversee all bakery production, including baking, decorating, and product preparationEnsure consistent product quality, freshness, and presentation standardsManage ordering, inventory levels, and shrink to maximize sales and minimize wasteExecute merchandising plans, seasonal items, and promotional displaysCustomer ExperienceProvide exceptional service and ensure a welcoming, friendly departmentAssist customers with orders, special requests, and product recommendationsMaintain an attractive and well-stocked sales floor with visually appealing displaysTeam Leadership & DevelopmentHire, train, and develop bakery associates, decorators, and clerksProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance managementCreate effective schedules based on business needs and production requirementsFoster a positive team environment focused on quality and accountabilityFinancial PerformanceDrive sales through product quality, variety, and effective merchandisingManage labor, shrink, and supply costs to meet department goalsMonitor key metrics such as sales, margin, and production efficiencySafety & ComplianceEnsure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulationsMaintain clean and organized prep, production, and sales areasFollow all company policies and regulatory requirementsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious bakery, food service, or retail management experience preferredStrong leadership, organization, and communication skillsKnowledge of bakery operations, production, and decorating techniquesAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with a flexible schedulePhysical RequirementsFrequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbsAbility to work in varying temperatures (ovens, coolers, freezers)Key CompetenciesLeadership & Team DevelopmentProduct Quality & FreshnessMerchandising & Production PlanningCustomer FocusOperational Excellence
