Job Summary And ResponsibilitiesAs our Respiratory Therapist, you will provide essential direct patient care, assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Your role is vital for improving patient outcomes.Every day you will assess respiratory status, implement treatment plans (oxygen, ventilation, airway management), and educate patients/families. You'll document interventions and collaborate with physicians and medical staff.To be successful, you will demonstrate strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and equipment proficiency. Excellent communication for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration, plus a commitment to safety and continuous development, are essential.Transfers and positions patients. Measurement: Observation, Feedback.Independently performs all diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety procedures. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.Assumes responsibility for filming and developing examinations, including laser printing. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Film accuracy, Film quality.Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Patient care documentation.Uses sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination. Assists in performing of first aid as necessary. Administers and/or assists the physician in administering radiopaque material. Measurement: Observation, Feedback, Departmental monitors.Job RequirementsRequiredMinimum of five (5) years experience as a staff technologist in radiology with at least one year (1) experience in each of two specialty fields, or be the lead in radiology and/or the clinical instructor for the Moorpark College, School of Radiologic Technology, or Mammography QC Technologist.
