BILINGUAL Speech-Language Pathologist / Auditory-Verbal Therapist / Clinical Fellow - ATLANTA, GA
The Auditory Verbal Center is expanding and is seeking a BILINGUAL (Spanish-English) Speech-Language Pathologist with a strong background in Auditory-Verbal training, a Clinical Fellow, or an already certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist to support our growing presence in Atlanta, Georgia.You will be part of a collaborative team of 8 fun, creative, and passionate Auditory-Verbal Therapists who work together to support deaf and hard of hearing children across Georgia.You will need to be conversationally proficient in Spanish and English as you will primarily provide services to Spanish-speaking clients, with an occasional need to support English-speaking clients if needed.Therapists manage their own schedules, provide 1-hour therapy sessions, and have the flexibility to work remotely part-time. The clinical team meets weekly via Zoom for collaboration and support. No travel to client homes is required, and we provide all toys, therapy materials, and teletherapy equipment needed for both in-person and remote sessions.The Auditory Verbal Center is a leader in pediatric spoken language intervention services and adult auditory rehabilitation (post-implantation) services in the state of Georgia. Since founding our teletherapy model in 2010, we have served clients statewide, offering both in-person and teletherapy options based on individual family needs. Join the Auditory Verbal Center's team in Atlanta and play a key role in expanding access to spoken language services while making a meaningful difference for deaf and hard of hearing children throughout Georgia.If you are interested in learning more about joining our team, please email resume to Debbie Brilling, Executive Director/CEO, at dbrilling@avchears.org.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide diagnostic auditory-verbal therapy to children with hearing loss for birth to school aged children and their familiesEducate and counsel clients and families on their treatment plans and progressDevelop individualized therapy lesson plans for clientsConduct formal and informal evaluations of clientsProvide referrals for other services needed when necessaryCommunicate regularly with members of the client care team, the client, family members, and other providers involved with the client's careSkillsExperience working with deaf or hard of hearing children (either through coursework or hands-on, hands-on preferred)Client evaluation using standardized assessmentsClient managementDocumentation of evaluations and therapy appointmentsTeam approach - collaboration with AV team, audiologists, early interventionalists, and educatorsKnowledge of typical child development from birth to 6 years of ageAbility to work independently with commitment to the vision, mission, and philosophy of the organizationExperience in teletherapy is a plusBilingual in Spanish and English is a plusQualificationsCertified in Auditory-Verbal Therapy preferred but training and mentoring will be provided toward certification if necessaryCCCs credentialing, with support provided towards obtaining your CCCs for CF applicantsEligible for a GA state SLP license, if not already obtainedWill consider CF with strong training in Auditory-Verbal TherapyBenefitsSalary commensurate with experience.
