Controller
Headfarmer is partnering with a fast-growing, privately held manufacturing and consumer products company seeking a hands-on Controller to lead day-to-day accounting operations and strengthen financial processes during a period of rapid expansion. This role is ideal for a Controller who enjoys being close to the business, rolling up their sleeves, developing people, and helping scale systems and structure in a dynamic environment. This position is open due to a planned leadership transition, allowing for knowledge transfer and continuity while elevating the accounting function to the next level.What You`ll DoLead and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and general ledgerOwn asset, liability, lease, and inventory accountingDrive accurate, timely weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reportingPrepare and analyze gross margin, inventory valuation, and cost accounting dataAssist with month-end close, including journal entries and inventory rollforwardsEstablish, document, and enforce accounting processes, controls, and proceduresMonitor cash flow, budget variances, and weekly cash position reportingBuild and oversee the budgeting process and support forecasting effortsPrepare revenue forecasts and provide narrative analysis comparing forecasts to actualsMaintain and test internal controls and support audits and compliance requirementsPartner with external auditors and CPA firms on reconciliations, reviews, and tax filingsCommunicate effectively with leadership, vendors, service providers, and internal teamsLead, mentor, and develop the accounting team while assessing future hiring needsIdentify opportunities for process improvement, system cleanup, and efficiency gains What We`re Looking ForBachelor`s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)Strong manufacturing accounting experience (required)Hands-on leadership experience managing and developing accounting teamsDeep experience with: Inventory and cost accounting, Margin analysis, Month-end close and financial reportingMicrosoft Dynamics 365 experience is requiredHigh attention to detail with the ability to connect the dots across the businessConfident communicator who can advocate for resources, ask questions, and drive claritySelf-starter with a problem-solving mindset - adaptable, resourceful, and resilientComfortable operating in a growing, evolving environment where priorities can shift Work Model & EnvironmentInitially in-office to learn the business and systemsTransition to a hybrid schedule once fully ramped (with in-office time during close, audits, and key periods)Fast-paced but balanced culture - strong expectations paired with reasonable hours Why This RoleOpportunity to step into a true leadership role with ownership and influencePartner closely with senior finance leadership as the company continues to scaleMeaningful exposure across operations, supply chain, and commercial teamsJoin a brand-driven business in an exciting, consumer-facing industryStrong growth trajectory with continued expansion expectedCompetitive compensation package with upside as the business grows
