Offers may vary depending on the circumstances of each case.SummaryUnder the direction of the lead Tech and with limited supervision, coordinates and performs, both diagnostic and intraoperative radiographs and also patient care functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis for the patients that exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.Other InformationRequired Job Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic program. Certified - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists CPR certification Current Illinois State License. 3 months to 1 year experience. Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology and effects of disease.Preferred Job Qualifications Associates degreePhysical Demands Physical, visual, auditory as well as full and partial body mobility to successfully and safely move patients on and off x-ray table. The ability to physically push and operates mobile imaging equipment to perform and complete patient exams 100% of the timeCompetencies Computer skills. Verbal and written skills necessary to facilitate communication with a variety of personnel. Ability to maintain confidential information. Knowledge of various diagnostic x-ray equipment, PACs equipment, CR, C-arms, Phone systems, patient transport devices. Basic knowledge comes for clinical experience.Responsibilities Receives and reviews requests for radiologic and surgical studies. Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. Explains and prepares the patient for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Maintains effective workflow in collaboration with the Radiology/OR team as well as the surgical Staff. Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease processes to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnosis. Operates highly complex equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient’s bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. standards. Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage change. Maintains equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel. Performs various computer functions necessary for obtaining and transmitting patient exams and information. Assists in the administration of various agents to render specific organs or systems more opaque. Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate. Maintains proper sterile technique while performing procedures in the Operating suites. Rotates on a weekly schedule of all Radiologic OR technologists, assuming Primary technologist role when assigned. Assists clinical instructor and provides direct training and supervision to the student technologists.
