General Laborer/ Hand Tools

Job Description BBSI is seeking dependable and safety-focused Construction Demolition Laborers,company will train demolition of a retail store project. This role involves removing existing flooring, drywall, fixtures, and store materials while maintaining a clean and safe job site. Candidates must be comfortable performing physically demanding work and following strict safety procedures to avoid damage to active electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.ResponsibilitiesPerform interior demolition work in a retail construction environmentRemove flooring materials, fixtures, shelving, drywall, and other store componentsPull up existing floors using hand and power toolsAssist with debris removal and site cleanup throughout the projectSafely handle and dispose of demolition materialsIdentify and avoid cutting or damaging electrical wiring, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and other active utilitiesUse proper demolition methods to protect surrounding structures and finishesLoad and unload materials, tools, and equipmentFollow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures at all timesWork closely with supervisors and team members to complete project deadlines efficientlyPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularlyFrequent bending, kneeling, climbing, pulling, pushing, and standing for extended periodsAbility to work in dusty, noisy, and physically demanding environmentsComfortable using demolition tools and equipment safelyQualificationsPrevious construction, demolition, remodeling, or general labor experience preferredExperience with drywall removal, flooring demolition, or retail remodels is a plusBasic knowledge of construction safety practicesAbility to recognize potential electrical hazards and avoid damaging live systemsReliable transportation and punctual attendance requiredAbility to follow directions and work independently or as part of a teamPreferred SkillsExperience using hand tools, pry bars, shovels, jackhammers, and other demolition equipmentUnderstanding of basic electrical and structural awarenessWork EnvironmentActive construction and retail renovation siteFast-paced team environment with strict safety expectationsPPE required at all times, company will provide hard hat, safety vest, gloves, eye protection, eye protectionSpanish speakers okScheduleFlexible either 5am-1:30pm or 6am-2:30pmStart DateTuesday May 26, 2026- reach out asapBBSI provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.California job applicants.
