Human Resources Assistant

BASIC FUNCTION:Coordinates and administers key human resources programs, including safety, FMLA, onboarding, and wellness to enhance the associate experience and support organizational goals. Serves as the main backup and support for payroll functions, recruiting, and processing associate changes.MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: PayrollReview all payroll entries for accuracy on a biweekly basis and act as primary backup for payroll, inputting entries as neededManage associate timecards and assist supervisors with processing themFMLA & Unpaid Medical Leave:Answer associates’ questions regarding FMLA and other leaves of absenceCoordinate, process & track all medical leaveEnsure that the appropriate documents are sent and receivedWork with health care professionals when necessary to clarify/determine LOACoordinate paid and unpaid leave during time out and track in timekeeping systemWellnessCoordinate wellness events to drive associate engagement, such as blood drives, health fairs, etc.Manage all communications on behalf of the wellness programServe as the main point of contact for the wellness platform vendorOnboardingComplete reference checksAct as liaison for new hires after offer is acceptedCoordinate with managers and schedule trainingsConduct new hire orientationFollow-up with new hires and managers at regular intervals during their introductory periodSafetyManage the safety program through implementing annual policy updates, coordinating training and communicating policies and procedures to ensure associates’ safetyMonitor OSHA compliance and address safety concerns as they ariseCoordinate with Residential Maintenance, Commercial Maintenance, and Residential Construction to ensure annual training is completed and policies are updated accordinglyTrack and submit all OSHA reporting, such as OSHA 300 & 300A logs annuallyEnsure Safety Coordinators are trained in first aid and CPR, and maintain active certification while serving in this capacityOversee the MVR procedures, including the annual review with our insurance company and completing quarterly checks to ensure compliance is maintainedOther Duties and Responsibilities:Provide support/backup to the HR team and assist with special projectsParticipate in organizational efforts such as the Culture Club and Community Impact CommitteeOversee preparation of materials for employment and wellness award nominationsAssist with processing terminations and conducting exit interviews  SKILLS1.     2+ years in related HR or administrative support role2.     Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail3.     Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, including excellent phone etiquette.4.     Professional, friendly, and personable.5.     Able to professionally handle difficult conversations.6.     Able to work with/keep confidential informationWE OFFER:1.     Competitive salary2.     Medical3.     Dental4.     Vision5.     Life6.     401(k)7.     Generous paid time off8.     Annual Reviews9.     Positive Work EnvironmentPAY RANGE:$22 - 26 per hourCASTO offers a supportive and inclusive environment for all associates and their families.
