Logistics & Facilites Associate
DescriptionThe Logistics and Utility Associate provide shipping, receiving and delivery support to all Total Industries departments who send and receive equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, industrial vehicles, batteries, chargers, and accessories. This includes ensuring equipment and products are shipped, delivered, received, billed, and documented according to Total Industries processes and procedures. The associate will ensure equipment is staged, available and loaded/unloaded safely. The associate will also make sure that all shipping and receiving paperwork is accurate and input into the logistics system. The other big part of this job is maintenance of the facilities. This associate will assist in maintaining the facility ensuring it is in a safe, clean, and organized condition at all times. This includes daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and safety inspections of all areas, including equipment and chemical storage areas.Key ResponsibilitiesThe following reflects the essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.LogisticsEnsure transportation plans include full loads to minimize drayage costsStage all equipment in the correct location according to ASEC guidelines and Total Industries procedures both in and outside the facility Maintain and organize equipment to be as accessible as possibleInspect all equipment for cleanliness and proper mechanical function prior to loading, reporting any problems to the shop foreman or managerComplete required paperwork for inbound and outbound shipments accurately and on time, including all necessary photos and documentation Ensure shipping and receiving logs are up to date at all timesDevelop and maintain positive business relationships with all who are involved in logistics activitiesEnsure all Logistics requests are completed in a timely manner.Material HandlingReceive and fill orders, confirm all is counted for before signing and releasing the driver.Load and unload materials to and from designated storage area Stack or pile materials in the correct location according to ASEC guidelines, inventory protocols and other related TMH procedures Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transportedInstall small scope projects and prepare material for transportVerify computations against physical count of stockAssess all material for damaged inventory and separate Do physical inventory on material on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of system inventory/ Report discrepancies to management.Operate forklift or other machinery as needed to complete tasksLabel/asset tag all assets/ example Forklifts, batteries, chargers, attachments, Racking, Dock & Door, and any special orders from the coordinator team.Drive flatbed truck to pick up incoming stock or deliver materials to designated locations as neededFacility MaintenanceWork with Safety & Continuous Improvement Manager to maintain a safe work environment that complies with State, Local and Federal regulations Follow and maintain Toyota ASEC 5s requirements for warehouse organization and process Follow written policies and procedures in the TMHNC IIPP and Pandemic Preparedness ProgramsKeep the shop, service, yard, parking lot and office facilities clean, disinfected, and stocked with necessary supplies at all timesInspect all shop equipment as well as chemical storage areas according to standards within the IIPP, including maintaining inspection checklists. taking necessary actions immediately to correct any identified deficiencies and logging/reporting the fix upon completionReport any safety or company policy violations immediately to a managerPerform all other duties as assigned or as responsibilities necessitate RequirementsRequiredHigh School DiplomaTwo (2) years of experience working in warehouse /material handling / industrial equipment environment, or equivalent combination of education and experienceAbility to act in a way that is consistent with our valuesAbility to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and customers Ability to speak, read and write English fluentlyAbility to shift priorities in a changing environmentAbility to comfortably sit, stand and maneuver in a variety of industrial equipmentProficient user of computer applications such as a WMS and/or Microsoft ExcelQualified DMV record, background check and drug screen.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistanceDesiredForklift Certified 2+ years of experience driving a flat bed or box truckMicrosoft Office – Outlook/Word/PowerPointPhysical EnvironmentRequired to move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, turn, climb, push, pull, squat, and/or remain balanced for extended lengths of time throughout their scheduled working period.Required to reach above and below the shoulder, use repetitive hand, wrist and forearm rotation along with fine manipulation with right and left hands.Required to use their hands on a routine and daily basis to grasp, reach, touch, handle, feel, and/or otherwise operate required tools or controls.Required to twist at the neck and waist frequently.Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement required for driving equipment including forklift and motor vehicle, including long driving periods to locations across Northern California.Will use tablet as a telephone, messenger, and work tool, so expect to wear a Bluetooth device and use fine hand movements to enter information into the tablet daily.Must be able to move about the work area in a variety of different temperatures and environments and work safely in all weather conditions.Hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions. Communicate, verbally and in written form, regularly to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions internally and directly with customers.Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The associate must be able to work safely at heights using applicable ladders and elevated working platforms.Lift 50 pounds without assistance and 100 pounds with assistance from others or utilizing a lifting device.Noise level fluctuates based on worksite.
