Cell Technician (Cellular Tower Technician)

Position Overview The Cell Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of cellular tower and wireless communication infrastructure. This role works hands-on in the field and supports Desert Services’ commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. Technicians may work independently or as part of a crew and must follow all company and client safety standards. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, and upgrade cellular tower equipment, including antennas, mounts, radios, and cabling Perform tower modifications, upgrades, and decommissioning activities Troubleshoot and repair RF, coax, and fiber systems Conduct site inspections and complete required documentation and reports Follow all OSHA, company, and client safety procedures at all times Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment safely and effectively Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, and project managers Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working condition Required Qualifications Previous experience as a Cell Technician or Tower Technician preferred Ability to climb towers and structures at heights of 50–300+ feet Knowledge of cellular equipment, cabling standards, and installation practices OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification (preferred or willing to obtain) Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed Physical Demands Ability to lift and carry up to 50–75 lbs Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and stand for extended periods Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind) Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunities for advancement and additional training
