Driver - Ride Connection, Hillsboro - PT 6:00am to 11:30am

Ride Connection is seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team as a part-time driver based in Hillsboro/Bethany. As a Driver, you will play a vital role in providing safe and dependable transportation services to older adults, people with disabilities, and others in our community. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who rely on our services for their mobility needs. This is a non-exempt position with a salary range of $21.48 - $30.24 per hour. Starting pay is based on experience. Anticipated hours for this position are approximately 6:00 am to 11:30 am, Monday through Friday. This driver position will be driving one of our smaller buses or large passenger vans. What You’ll Do Safely transport customers to and from their destinations, which may include medical appointments, grocery shopping, social outings, and other errands. Transport customers according to the schedule and/or instructions given by the Program Manager or the Service Center. Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey. Provide friendly and respectful customer service, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times. Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations, and exercise caution while driving, especially when transporting passengers with mobility challenges. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including monitoring and maintaining proper vehicle fuel levels. Maintain customer confidentiality. Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record A minimum of 5 years driving experience as recorded by the Department of Motor Vehicles. Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds safely and secure wheelchairs safely in enclosed spaces. Ability to access reliable transportation. Experience and comfort with using smartphones, and tablets. Ability to pass a National Criminal Record Check which includes fingerprint identification. If a record exists, the nature and severity of charges will be discussed with candidates and, in some cases, may not be a barrier to employment. This position may be required to perform “Safety Sensitive” duties per Federal Transit Administration (FTA) guidelines. When required the employee assigned to this position must participate and remain in compliance with the FTA Drug and Alcohol testing program, including pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident testing. Welcomed Additional Qualifications Bilingual or Multi-lingual Previous experience working as a driver, preferably in a customer service-oriented role or operating a large vehicle.
