Registered Dietitian - Facility BasedQUALIFICATIONSThe anticipated service area for this position covers Birtle, Hamiota, Roblin, Rossburn, Sandy Lake & Shoal LakeEligible for active practicing licensure to practice Registered Dietitian with applicable regulatory body in the Province of ManitobaBaccalaureate Degree in Human Ecology, major in Human Nutritional Sciences or equivalent.Graduate of a recognized dietetic internship program which has been accredited by EQual, including the Masters of Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Manitoba or a planned practicum as requested by the College of Dietitians of ManitobaProvince of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health.Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other Information TechnologyDemonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independentlyDemonstrated problem solving and decision making skillsDemonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environmentDemonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the positionDemonstrated communication skillsAbility to respect and promote confidentialityAbility to perform the duties of the position on a regular basisAbility to respect and promote a culturally diverse populationAbility to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients and within interdisciplinary teamPOSITION SUMMARY:The Registered Dietitian - Facility Based is responsible for providing nutritional care and counseling for patients, residents and clients; participates as a member of the health care and dietitian teams; provides nutrition care plan instruction to nutrition services staff; contributes to the development of programs, menus, policies and procedures, and educational materials as related to nutrition care; participates in the strategic planning process and continuous quality improvement.RESPONSIBILITIES:Overview:In collaboration with the health care teams, including patients, residents, clients and/or next of kin; using current best practice evidence; and within standards of practice:Completes nutrition assessments;Develops, monitors and revises nutrition care plans;Provides nutrition education to clients and team members;Keeps records as per standards established by the region/program;Provides nutrition expertise for relevant program-specific procedures;Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings (e.g. Care Conferences, Clinical Rounds, Discharge Planning, Dining Improvement, ).Prepares statistical and status reports.Sundry duties as assigned.*
