As an Optical Technician, you'll be the link between our optometrists and patients. Your role will be to ensure that every individual receives the highest quality of care, service, and support throughout their optical journey. ResponsibilitiesConduct preliminary vision testsDocument patient medical and ocular history accuratelyWelcome and prepare patients for eye examsClearly explain each step of the testing processProvide post-exam guidanceAssist optometrists during eye exams or minor proceduresPrepare and sanitize equipment and exam rooms between patientsManage patient flow to ensure efficient schedulingAccurately enter data into Electronic Health Records (EHR) and maintain HIPAA complianceRequired SkillsMinimum 1–2 years of experience working as an optometric technician or in a similar eye care clinical settingProficiency with pre-testing equipmentExperience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (Revolution EHR)Familiarity with optical terminology, lens materials, and frame typesAbility to perform and interpret basic visual field testsStrong verbal and written communication abilitiesComfort working with pediatric, geriatric, and special needs patientsAbility to manage clinical flow efficiently and anticipate doctor needsUnderstanding of insurance verification and eligibility basics (vision vs. medical)Capable of scheduling and confirming appointments and maintaining clinical logsExcellent attention to detailAbility to work independently and in a team settingCalm under pressure; can multitask in a fast-paced office
