If you're ready to make a lasting impact and advance your career with a forward-thinking company, we want to hear from you!Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:The candidate selected will report to the Director of Civil and Coastal Engineering and have the opportunity to manage a diverse coastal engineering team and challenging restoration projects in Florida and along the US Gulf and East CoastStrong quantitative skillsets to support coastal/waterfront projectsLead project teams in conducting the design process for engineering projects from feasibility studies to detailed final designsIndependently conduct engineering analyses and apply coastal engineering tools for the design and formulation of resilient coastal protection projectsPerform project management activities in a lead role being responsible for scope, budget and schedule working in close coordination with project team, sub-consultants and clientPrepare standard contract documents, such as technical specifications, engineering reports, regulatory applications and other technical documentsParticipate in business development and marketing activities and write proposals targeting various coastal engineering opportunities in the regionContributing to and providing presentations for conferences and technical organizationsCoordinate work with other coastal engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline and with support services staffConduct field work including site inspections, surveys, and construction observationsCollaborate on building innovative tools, technology, and productsInterpret contract documents and perform contract administration.Manage individual tasks and small projects while also working collaboratively as part of a team for larger or multi-disciplinary projectsIndependently manage multiple project schedules and deliverablesGrow and lead existing and new client relationshipsRepresentative Projects:Small- and large-scale beach renourishment projects utilize both dredge and truck haul methodsCoastal and marine structures such as jetties, groins, bulkheads, seawalls, revetments, docks, boat ramps, breakwaters, and piersLiving shoreline design and ecosystem restorationAdaptation plans, vulnerability assessments, and resiliency strategiesBasic Qualifications:7+ years of coastal engineering experienceBachelor's Degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering requiredProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Florida or the ability to be licensed within 90 days of hireIn depth understanding of the coastal and marine environment in FloridaWorking knowledge of coastal numerical modeling software preferredDemonstrated ability to work with diverse data sets (preferred candidate will have some experience in any of the following: CAD, GIS, Matlab coding)Demonstrated technical and analytical skills in designing projectsDemonstrated environmental permitting experience in any state (FL preferred)Demonstrated history of technical leadership, mentoring, and independent successDemonstrated strength in written and verbal communication skills suitable to a consulting environmentDemonstrated ability to fluently communicate in spoken and written EnglishHave a passion for working in a consulting firm environment on various types of projectsExperience with preparation of proposals, selection presentations and business developmentAbility to travel in support of business and project activities (approx. 25%)Location can be in one of these APTIM location Boca Raton, FL, Tampa FL, Jacksonville, FL, Baton Rouge, LA and Dallas, TXABOUT APTIMAPTIM enhances the quality of the environment, wellbeing of people, resilience of communities, and opportunity for employees to make a difference, not just a living.
