Additional perks include free monthly dining, discounted meal plans, and required direct deposit for payroll.Job Summary/ObjectiveThe Head Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, recruitment, conditioning, training, competitive performance, and administrative management of the Lees-McRae College Men's Volleyball program. The position carries out all responsibilities in a manner that reflects respect for all individuals and supports the values and mission of the College. The Head Coach recruits and retains qualified student-athletes to maintain a full and competitive roster, and fosters their athletic, academic, and personal development, preparing them to become engaged community members and alumni.Essential FunctionsRecruits, retains, and develops adequate roster size with thoughtful mindset of discount rate and net tuition revenue.Manages and monitors assigned budget within college guidelines, policies, and procedures.Schedules inter-collegiate games during season and off-season within NCAA Division II, Conference Carolinas, as well as college policies and procedures.Adheres to NCAA policies and regulations and is able to articulate those to student-athletes, recruits, parents, and media.Adheres to Lees-McRae College and Athletic Department policies and procedures.Organizes pre-game and post-game arrangements, for example, equipment, facilities, officials, game/bench personnel, etc.Arrange practices and practice schedule within department, university, and NCAA policies.Coaches the team during games and practices in an atmosphere of respect for all people and acknowledges the values and mission of the College along with Conference Carolinas, Body, Mind and Soul narrative.Serves as spokesperson for promotion of the team.Functions as a team member within Athletic Department.Performs other duties as delineated by the Athletic Director.CompetenciesStrong Communication-recruits, alumni, parents, and donors.Ethical Conduct.Stress Management/Composure.Teamwork Orientation.ThoroughnessWell organized.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position does not have any current supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentThis position is in-office, on-campus. Normal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, etc.Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time/exempt NCAA Division II head coaching position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekends will be required as job duties demand.TravelTravel may be required, including accompanying the team to both home and away competitions and participating in recruiting activities as part of coaching responsibilities. Must be able to successfully complete a motor vehicle report.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree.3-5 years' experience in coaching/recruiting/developing men's volleyball players.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree.Physical DemandsThe employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift or move 10 to 25 pounds.
