As a Construction Manager II, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects by overseeing construction activities, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications, and fostering strong relationships with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to support successful project execution from pre-construction through closeout.Check you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below.What are the core responsibilities for the role?Oversee day-to-day construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budgetMonitor contractor performance for compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable standardsCoordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and clients to resolve field issues efficientlyReview and track project schedules, submittals, RFIs, and change ordersFacilitate and lead construction meetings, including progress, coordination, and safety meetingsEnsure adherence to safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsMaintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, quantity tracking, and progress recordsAssist in cost control efforts, including reviewing pay applications and supporting budget trackingIdentify risks and proactively develop solutions to mitigate impacts to schedule and costProvide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and field personnelSupport project closeout activities, including punch lists, final inspections, and documentationQualifications, Skills, and Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering (P.E. Preferred), or a related field (or equivalent experience)3–6 years of progressive experience in construction management, preferably in DOT transportation or infrastructure projectsStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project delivery processesExperience with DOT or public agency projects is preferredAbility to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documentsStrong organizational and time management skills with attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teamsProficiency in construction management software and Microsoft xaygatp Office SuiteDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentDemonstrated ability to manage staff on large, fast-paced projectsCommitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvementWhy would a candidate want this job?
