Role: Technical Writer (Multi-Cloud Documentation Specialist)Location: Boston Area (Quincy preferred; Austin may be considered)Job type: ContractJob description:Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Technical Writer with strong multi-cloud knowledge to create high-quality, structured, and scalable documentation. This role will focus on documenting cloud platforms, architectural patterns, and best practices across AWS and Azure environments, with an emphasis on clarity for both internal and external stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for multi-cloud environments (AWS & Azure)Create detailed documentation for Azure services, including Azure Cosmos DB, and define reusable multi-pattern documentation frameworks aligned with enterprise standardsProduce clear guardrails and governance documentation for cloud services (security, compliance, architecture standards)Write and maintain:README filesHigh Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) documentationInternal and external-facing technical documentsDocument infrastructure components such as Virtual Machines (VMs), highlighting differences and best practices between AWS and AzureCollaborate with architects, engineers, and product teams to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand documentationSupport both horizontal (cross-platform) and vertical (domain-specific) documentation initiativesEnsure consistency of documentation, versioning, and adherence to organizational standardsRequired Skills & QualificationsProven experience as a Technical Writer in cloud or infrastructure environmentsStrong understanding of multi-cloud platforms, especially AWS and AzureHands-on experience documenting Azure services (e.g., Azure Cosmos DB)Familiarity with cloud architecture concepts including high availability, scalability, and resiliencyExperience creating governance frameworks, guardrails, and best practice documentationAbility to document differences across cloud providers (e.g., AWS vs Azure VM architectures)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with engineering and architecture teams in Agile environmentsPreferred QualificationsExperience in financial services or enterprise environments (e.g., asset management firms)Familiarity with documentation tools (Confluence, Markdown, Git, etc.)Exposure to cloud security and compliance standardsKey DeliverablesMulti-cloud architecture documentation (AWS & Azure)Azure service documentation (including Cosmos DB patterns)Guardrails and governance documentationHigh availability and infrastructure documentation Internal and external technical content
