Senior Commercial Manager / Project AccountantLocation: Dallas, TX (Relocation assistance available)Salary: Highly competitiveOverviewOur client is a leading international engineering and construction business delivering complex design and build projects across sectors including Data Centres, Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics, Pharmaceutical and Industrial. They are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager / Project Accountant to support the commercial, contractual and financial success of large-scale construction projects across North America.This position will play a key role in overseeing cost management, procurement, contract administration and commercial governance across multiple high-value projects, while partnering closely with operational and senior leadership teams to ensure successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial & Financial ManagementLead the commercial management of projects from tender through to final accountDevelop and oversee project budgets, forecasts and cashflow projectionsManage cost reporting, margin analysis and value tracking across projectsEnsure accurate valuation of work in progress (WIP) and timely submission of client payment applicationsProvide commercial insight and reporting to support strategic business decisionsContract Management & RiskDraft, review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts and consultant agreementsAdvise project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks and entitlementsManage change orders, claims and variations through to resolutionMaintain accurate commercial documentation and contractual recordsSupport dispute avoidance and resolution strategies with clients and subcontractorsProcurement & Supply ChainDevelop procurement strategies aligned with project delivery schedules and cost targetsLead tendering, bid analysis and subcontract award processesBuild strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value and project deliveryEnsure procurement activities comply with company and client standardsLeadership & CollaborationMentor and manage commercial and project accounting team membersWork closely with Project Managers, Estimators and Finance teams to align cost, scope and delivery objectivesSupport pre-construction and business development teams with commercial input and bid strategyDrive continuous improvement across commercial systems, reporting and governance processesGovernance & ReportingPrepare monthly commercial reports for senior leadershipEnsure compliance with internal controls, governance and audit requirementsSupport project close-out activities including reconciliations, retention release and lessons learned reviewsRequirementsExperience10+ years of experience in commercial management, cost management, project accounting or contract administration within construction, engineering or EPC environmentsStrong experience delivering large-scale Mission Critical / Data Center projectsProven background managing projects exceeding $100M in valueStrong understanding of design-build, EPC and lump-sum contracting environmentsExperience managing contracts, claims, variations and commercial risk across multiple projectsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Finance or related disciplineMRICS, PQS or equivalent professional qualification preferredAdditional certifications such as PMP or Contract Law are advantageousSkillsStrong commercial and financial acumenAdvanced understanding of project financials, cost reporting and cashflow managementExcellent negotiation, stakeholder management and leadership skillsExperience with commercial and ERP systems such as Procore, CMiC, Primavera or similarAbility to operate effectively within fast-paced, high-value project environmentsAdditional InformationCombination of office and site-based workTravel may be required depending on project locationRelocation assistance can be provided for candidates moving to Dallas, TX
