Avionics Engineer

Our client, a leader in aerospace & defense is looking to hire an Avionics Engineer to join their team. This will be fully onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA.*This job is a 9-month W2 contract role with benefits!*As an Avionics Engineer, you will support external customer stakeholders and internal software & hardware engineering teams with the design, validation, and verification testing for cockpit avionics in the Special Operations Aviation military programs.What You'll Be Doing:Perform designs, requirements, validation, & verification for cockpit avionics for various special operations programsPerform requirements-based testing, robustness and ad-hoc testing in a lab environmentSupport cross-functional team development with both external customer stakeholders and internal software and hardware engineering teamsPerform investigations of the client lab hardware and environment, including integration investigations of different client interfacesRequired Skills & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field3+ years of relevant experience in Systems, Hardware, Firmware or Avionics EngineeringPreferred Skills & Experience:Master's degree in Engineering or related fieldExperience using TNT, DOORS, PREP, Jira and/or Microsoft Office SuiteWorking knowledge of data busses and protocols including Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429Prior experience in Military Avionics strongly preferred!Motion Recruitment Partners is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
