Director of Project Management & InstallationWe are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Project Management & Installation to lead end-to-end execution of complex material lifting system projects across multiple regions.The ideal candidate will bring a strong balance of operational leadership, financial ownership, and field execution expertise, with the ability to scale teams and optimize both internal and subcontracted resources.Salary: $140k-$175k / yrKey ResponsibilitiesProject Management LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop a team of Project Managers and Coordinators supporting multi-site material lifting system installationsStandardize project management processes, tools, and reporting across the organizationDrive effective planning, scheduling, budgeting, and margin management across all projectsEnsure disciplined execution of milestones, risk mitigation, and issue resolutionOversee project portfolio prioritization and resource allocationInstallation Strategy & Execution (Internal + Subcontracted)Direct all installation activities, including scheduling, staffing, and execution strategyDetermine optimal labor mix (internal vs. subcontracted) based on cost, capacity, and project complexityBuild and manage a high-performing network of subcontract installation partnersEnsure OSHA compliance and safety. Maintain installation quality, consistency, and adherence to engineered specificationsField Operations & Resource ManagementAlign project timelines with crew availability, logistics, and site readinessMonitor field productivity, labor utilization, and installation cycle timesImplement workforce planning strategies to balance backlog and capacityEnsure proper coordination of materials, tooling, and equipment to job sitesFinancial OwnershipOwn project P&L performance, including revenue, cost control, and gross marginApprove budgets, labor plans, and subcontractor spendDrive accurate forecasting, cost tracking, and change order managementIdentify opportunities to improve margins through operational efficiency and vendor managementSubcontractor & Vendor ManagementNegotiate scopes of work, pricing, and service agreements with subcontractorsEstablish performance expectations and accountability metricsResolve escalations related to vendor performance or project executionCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to align on scope, timelines, and execution strategyProvide installation insights during pre-sale and project kickoff phasesCollaborate with Procurement and Logistics to ensure material availabilityCustomer Experience & Escalation ManagementServe as the senior escalation point for key accounts and complex projectsEnsure proactive communication regarding project status, risks, and timelinesDrive consistent project closeout, including commissioning, documentation, and turnoverLeadership & CultureBuild a high-performance, accountable culture across project management and field teamsEstablish clear KPIs and performance expectationsSupport training, development, and succession planning initiativesQualificationsExperience10+ years of experience in project management, field operations, or installation leadership within industrial equipment, construction, or material handling environmentsProven success managing both internal teams and subcontracted laborExperience leading multiple Project Managers and complex project portfoliosSkills & ExpertiseStrong understanding of material lifting systems, rigging practices, and installation methodsExpertise in project scheduling, cost control, and execution methodologiesDemonstrated financial acumen with P&L responsibilityExperience negotiating and managing vendors and subcontractorsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to operate effectively across office and field environmentsEqual Employment Opportunity (EEO) Statement Crane 1 Services is an equal opportunity employer.
