Shift: 7on/7off Night Shift Pharmacy Technician-8:30PM-7AM****Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, procures, prepares, packages, and distributes and disposes medications and pharmaceutical supplies to assist the department in providing quality pharmaceutical care for all patients.+ Maintains an established inventory of drugs and commonly used supplies; re-orders and stocks items upon delivery to ensure immediate availability.+ Maintains competency and follows departmental, USP, DEA, and FDA guidelines when repackaging and compounding pharmaceutical products.+ Properly operates, troubleshoots, monitors, and cleans departmental automation and equipment.+ Responds timely to customers' needs by answering phone calls, receiving and distributing messages, and triaging requests appropriately.+ Assists with operational support functions, including minor housekeeping activities and department cleaning/disinfecting/decontaminating standards to maintain the work area.+ Conducts regular quality assurance inspections focused on TJC requirements, including the examination of product integrity and expiration.+ Completes all required training and competency assessments in a timely fashion.+ Assists in the orientation and training of new personnel.+ May serve as a resource for less experienced staff, providing technical information and guidance in pharmacy techniques and policies to ensure the delivery of efficient, quality service.+ High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.+ Successful completion of an ASHP accredited technician training program or enrollment in a professional-related school preferred.+ 6 months experience as Pharmacy Technician or completion of ASHP-accredited tech training program preferred.+ Current CPhT certification through either PTCB or NHA and active Georgia Pharmacy Technician registration, or current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with a current Georgia Pharmacy Intern license.+ Must maintain certification and registration through entire length of employment.20-35 lbs, 34-66% of the workday; (10-20 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing); ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work. Travel may be required.
