Work primarily involves the safe operation of a three axle tractor and trailer unit. Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Inspects truck before and after trips and submits reports indicating truck condition. Coordinates work assignment designations with Plant Manager. Loads, unloads, or assists in loading and unloading truck. Performs PM Services on truck relating to oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer. Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as Drives truck to weigh station before and after loading as needed. Maintains driver log according to F.C.C. regulations. Proper completion of DOT approved Log Books. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of laws, legal codes, and government regulations regarding CDL license. Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Must be CDL certified The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears. The ability to choose quickly between movements in response to movements in response to two or more different signals (lights, sounds, pictures). It includes the speed with which the correct response is started with the hand, foot, or other body part. The ability to judge which of several objects is closer or farther away from you, or to judge the distance between you and an object. Must be able to push and pull dollies or pallets loaded with pans using appropriate equipment. Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Must be able to operate a Forklift, Pallet Jack, Cart Caddy, Strapping and E-Track Functions This job requires steel-toes work boots, double palm leather work gloves, and back support. The training requirements for this job include Compressed Gas, Emergency Action Plan, Emergency response & Training Program, Emergency Spill, Eye Protection, Fire Prevention, Forklift Safety Program, Hazard Communication Program, Lockout Tagout Program, Machine Guarding, Respiratory Program, and Slips and Falls. The hours and schedule for this job are flexible and are dependent upon customer needs.
