Motion and Controls Systems Engineer
ESI is looking for a talented and motivated Motion and Controls Systems/Field Engineer to support our embedded software platforms. This individual will work under the guidance of the company Director of Program Development and in collaboration with other engineering areas.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering discipline, and 5+ years recent experience in Requirements Management, V&V with customer facing responsibility.
Candidate should be able to demonstrate expertise in:
Support document preparation and import into database, requirements change management, document exports, creating reports and collecting metrics
Travel to customer sites for system integration and to troubleshoot system issues
Respond to customer calls and emails with technical advice
Serve as the technical point of contact for customers
Create and manage accounts, accesses and permissions and administration of the requirements management tool
Effectively manage requirements across multiple programs
Assist in the development, updating and maintenance of Requirements training materials, policies, procedures and work instructions
Systems engineering and understanding of how requirements drive design
Document and drive acceptance and qualification test plans, procedures and reports
Establish product development stage gate technical criterion and support integration
Perform hardware level requirements validation and support verification
Perform system level testing to verify requirements are executed
Requirement bi-directional traceability and closure of requirements
Support companywide implementation of Requirements management tool – from proposals, to quotation to design to verification and closure
Basic software and electrical engineering concepts particularly Motor control systems
Project management methodologies knowledge a plus
Military standards knowledge a plus
Military project or government subcontract RFP process knowledge a plus
In addition, the ideal candidate will have:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
A hands-on, "get it done" attitude
Fluency in the use of DOORS, JIRA Requirements Management or similar tool
Strong communication and leadership ability
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Creativity and self-motivation to solve unique and complex technical problems
Desire to lead teams and be promoted to higher levels of responsibility a plus
Knowledge of Microsoft products including Windows 7, Word, Excel, etc.
Systems Engineering Certification (INCOSE or similar) a plus
Excellent oral and written English skills
