Build your career with the industry-leading fire, life safety and security company.This position is responsible for the proper Servicing, maintenance and inspection of portable devices. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and performing fire extinguisher checks in accordance with fire code; identifying system deficiencies and preparing accurate and timely inspection reports.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform inspections, testing, maintenance, and servicing of portable fire extinguishers and related equipment independently.Complete standard service calls without direct supervision while ensuring quality and compliance.Conduct annual inspections, maintenance, and assist with testing as required.Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, and company procedures.Accurately document services performed, including tagging and reporting.Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers and supervisors.Maintain and properly use tools, equipment, and service vehicles.Communicate effectively with customers, team members, and supervisors regarding job status and findings.Maintain a high level of safety awareness and follow all company safety policies and procedures.Perform work in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Use hand tools and testing equipment.Travel to job sites as required.Other duties as assigned by management.Education/QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required.2+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician in fire portables.Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks.Strong understanding of portable fire protection equipment and applicable codes.Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving role).Other DutiesAdheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.Performs other duties as assigned by management.Physical RequirementsAbility to perform physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various environments.Ability to lift 50+ pounds.Work performed in commercial, industrial, and construction environments.Exposure to varying conditions including heights, confined spaces, and active job sites.Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work for extended periods.Benefits And PerksExcellent payMedical, dental, visionCompany paid life insuranceCompany paid short-term disability401K with employer matchPaid vacation and company holidaysTraining and Career DevelopmentCompany vehicle (if job applicable)Immediate qualification for the ALL In Ownership Plan for all eligible full-time employeesPye-Barker Fire & Safety is an Equal Opportunity Employer
