SUMMARY The Buyer Planner acts as the controller of specific attachment products produced within and outside of the plant. The position contributes to company performance by providing tactical and strategic production support that facilitates the achievement of business goals and objectives. Working closely with production associates and supply chain partners, the Buyer Planner assists with the development and execution of production schedules to meet customer needs. Responsibilities encompass but are not limited to material procurement, logistics coordination, cost reduction activities, inventory accuracy and control, assisting with supply chain development, and cost accuracy. Manage intermediate (medium to high complexity) supply chains to procure materials supporting production Schedule production for intermediate (medium to high complexity) products to meet customer needs Implement continuous improvements and manage cost reduction projects Manage cycle counts and inventory audits Develop new supplier relationships and facilitate improvements with existing suppliers Provide internal customers with price and availability quotes for parts or attachments Manage all aspects of supplier quality Proven ability to mentor and train QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, safely and in alignment with Cascade’s core values. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. 3 - 5 years of experience in a production environment. Demonstrated knowledge of Cascade systems and standards desired. Demonstrated experience with MRP and ERP systems preferred. Demonstrated understanding of customer and market requirements, and a passion for customer satisfaction. Able to work effectively in a team environment and independently. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Outstanding organizational and analytical skills. Strong problem solving skills required. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as welding, machining, and assembly. Demonstrated ability to manage moderately complex products. Demonstrated ability to manage moderately complex supply chains. JOB SCOPE This is a professional purchasing and scheduling role requiring knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures to manage material flow from suppliers to the production facility. The role requires a self-starter used to working independently and with others to accomplish individual and team objectives. Know and apply the practices and procedures of procurement and scheduling. Use established procedures, and work under limited supervision to perform assigned tasks. Evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required for the role. Discretion and judgement are exercised in the execution of job duties. If errors in judgement or professional execution of responsibilities are made, consequences could include disruption to the manufacturing process, including damaged relationships with vendors and customers.
